Logging in:
Personal licenses: The pin number is the last four digits of the licensee's social security number. (Exceptions: Licenses issued after October, 1, 2007, cosmetologists licensed after October 1, 2004 and anyone holding a license that expired prior to September 30, 2007 must renew by mail)

School licenses: The pin number is the record ID listed on the license.
Salons: The pin is the last four digits of the file number.

Fish Pedicures are now prohibited. In their meeting January 12, 2009 the Board determined that fish pedicures will not be permitted in NC salons.

CE Exemption: All Cosmetologists with 20 years of consecutive licensure are exempt from the continuing education requirement during the renewal period following the 20 year anniversary of licensure.

Need CE Hours?
Sign up to take the Board's 3 hour state law and sanitation course. The next course is scheduled for July 27, 2009 with sessions at both 9:00 and 1:00 at the Board's office 1201 Front Street Suite 110 Raleigh, NC 27609. The cost is only $5 and must be in the form of a money order.

CE hours can be earned at the July 13, 2009 Board Meeting, a maximum of 2 hours of CE credit. Attendance is limited to 30 licensees, with guaranteed seating until the meeting begins at 9:00. Late entries will not receive credit. The meeting will be held at 1201 Front Street Suite 110 Raleigh, NC 27609

Ear stapling is outside the scope of practice of all cosmetic art licensees. Individuals licensed to perform ear stapling are medical doctors, chiropractors and acupuncturists.

  As of January 1, 2007 a processing fee of $5 will be applied to any overpayment sent to the office.
